Following the recent callout from Foodbank for vital food staples such as pasta, South Australian family owned pasta manufacturer San Remo, will donate the equivalent of 100,000 meals to support Foodbank’s bushfire relief efforts across the country.

The donation is equivalent to 50 tonnes or more than $485,000 in retail value which includes pasta and Fantastic rice snacks and noodles, and will support Foodbank’s relief efforts in SA, NSW, VIC and QLD. In South Australia alone, where the family owned business is headquartered, San Remo will be providing Foodbank SA with 22 tonnes of food, equivalent to 44,000 meals to support those impacted by recent bushfires in the Adelaide Hills and Kangaroo Island.

The large donations across the country will help Foodbank with their relief efforts over the next 12 months as communities affected by bushfires will need ongoing relief as they begin the journey of rebuilding and recovering from significant losses.

Family has always been an important part of the San Remo business and drives the daily operations of the company. As a business that has been operating in communities across Australia for many years, it is important to San Remo to support families in this time of need in the best way possible.

Foodbank is also seeking monetary donations from the public, so please visit their website to find out how you can help.

Our thoughts are with all of those that have been affected across Australia during this devastating fire season.
